Browsing Venues

Learn how to search and filter venues to find the perfect space for your event.

In OpenVenue:

• A **venue** is the overall listing (the location and its details)
• A **space** is a bookable unit within a venue (for example, a "Main Hall" or "Meeting Room")

Accessing the Venues Page

There are several ways to browse venues:

1. Click **Browse Venues** on the homepage
2. Use the navigation menu to select **Venues**
3. Go directly to `/venues`

The Venues Listing

The venues page displays venue listings as cards. Each venue card shows:

• **Venue photo** - A preview image of the space
• **Venue name** - The name of the venue
• **Location** - City (when available)
• **Price** - Hourly or daily rate
• **Capacity** - Maximum number of guests

Searching for Venues

Use the search bar at the top of the page to find venues by:

• Venue name
• Description
• City
• Keywords (e.g., "conference room", "studio")

How to Search

1. Click the search input field
2. Type your search term
3. Results will update automatically

Filtering Venues

Narrow down your options using filters:

Capacity Filter

• Set a minimum number of guests
• Only venues that can accommodate your group will appear

Price Filter

• Set a minimum and/or maximum hourly price

Amenities Filter

• Select one or more amenities
• Only venues that include all selected amenities will appear

Sorting Results

Sort venues by:

• **Name** - Alphabetical by venue name
• **Price: Low to High** - Budget-friendly options first
• **Price: High to Low** - Premium venues first
• **Capacity: Low to High**
• **Capacity: High to Low**
• **Distance: Nearest First** - Available after you choose **Use my location**

Viewing a Venue

Click on any venue card to see full details including:

• All photos
• Complete description
• Full amenity list
• Booking options (including which spaces are available to book)

Tips for Finding the Right Venue

1. **Start broad** - Search by location first, then narrow down
2. **Check capacity** - Make sure the venue fits your group size
3. **Review amenities** - Ensure the venue has what you need
4. **Check pricing** - Confirm the rate fits your budget
5. **Check reviews** - See what other guests experienced
